The Future of Teaching and Learning: Reimagining University Education in a Post-Pandemic Era



On the 26th of April 2022, Haniffa Business School hosted its second research seminar series of 2022. We were glad to have Professor Dr. Pradeep Nair, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer of Taylor’s University as our guest speaker.



The Future of Teaching and Learning Academic talk

Professor Pradeep is a multiple national and international award-winning education innovator and has led numerous institutional transformation projects over the last 31 years. Some of his illustrious innovations in the higher education industry include pioneering the first dual award degrees in Asia, introducing the award-winning SHINE Award & the 2nd Transcript, Microcredentials, X-Space Classrooms of the Future, ReWIND Lecture Capture System, Learning Analytics, and the first Faculty Track System in Malaysia. He has also pioneered new concepts and ideas to embed “Whole Person Education” in university curricula. In 2018, he successfully implemented the Taylor’s Curriculum Framework (TCF), a bold initiative to transform 56 undergraduate degrees to be broad-based, flexible, and personalized.


In addition to that, he is also an appointed member of the National Council for Technical and Vocation Education (MTVET), the National Curriculum Board for Polytechnics and Community Colleges in Malaysia, the Deputy President of the Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities (MAPCU) and the Founding President of the ASEAN Tourism Research Association (ATRA).


Professor Dr. Pradeep’s talk discusses the important global trends related to the rapidly changing work environment and the shifts in the learner’s expectations. Professor Pradeep proceeded to lay out several key initiatives that modern-day universities ought to employ in order to stay ahead and remain relevant in the post-pandemic era. It was an insightful session for the predominantly academic-oriented audience to ensure that their faculties remain up to date with the latest trends and changes that are currently disrupting the higher education industry.
