The Importance of Workforce Digitalisation for Business in a Post-Pandemic World

On the 30th of April 2022, Haniffa Business School hosted its inaugural Distinguished Leaders Series talk, where we invite distinguished leaders to share their experiences in leading organizations. We were more than thrilled to have Datuk Shahul Dawood, the Chief Executive of HRD Corp, as our guest speaker for the inaugural talk.

The Importance of Workforce Digitalisation

Datuk Shahul Dawood was appointed as the Chief Executive of HRD Corp in April 2020, and the organization has achieved many major milestones under the leadership of Datuk Shahul Dawood. HRD Corp has introduced various strategic initiatives geared at providing job matching and placement opportunities, as well as income-generating programmes.

Some examples of these include (i) e-LATiH, the premier e-learning hub that provides Malaysians with unlimited access to free online courses from reputable international and local content providers, (ii) SCOPE, which is a collaborative effort with the Malaysian Prison Department to support current and former detainees by providing them with income-generation and employment opportunities, (iii) the PENJANA HRD Corp programme, which contains 5 separate initiatives in order to ensure the continuous development of the nation’s human capital and (iv) the recently launched Microcredential Initiative, which is a collaboration together with the Ministry of Higher Education to assist all Malaysians to obtain stackable certifications through short-term learning, which will then enable learners to acquire officially recognized qualifications.

The audience members, which comprised MAHSA University’s senior management team, faculty members, and business students, thoroughly enjoyed the talk delivered by Datuk Shahul Dawood. He emphasized the need for organisations to continue digitizing their workforce in order to remain competitive as the world navigates through the post-pandemic environment. The talk was followed by a lively Q&A session between the speaker and members of the audience. We thank Datuk Shahul Dawood for delivering a wonderful lecture at Haniffa Business School.
